How Does It Work?
One of the key bacteria responsible for the
inflammation is Propionibacterium acnes or
P.acnes. These bacteria produce natural chemicals
called poryphyrins, which are sensitive to
light at different wavelengths. Omnilux™ blue™ stimulates
these chemicals and so eradicates the bacteria
that cause the redness or inflammation of
acne. This is combined with Omnilux revive™ which
has anti inflammatory properties, this helps
to minimize the redness of acne lesions and
promotes healthier skin. Omnilux™ treatments
are totally non-invasive and generate no
heat. The treatment does not damage normal
tissue and works with the body’s own
natural processes to rejuvenate the skin.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The treatment course is 2 treatments weekly
for 4 weeks, 8 treatments in total. An additional
treatment course may be required for more severe
cystic acne. Most clients will see improvement
as early as the fourth treatment. (Two weeks
from the start of treatment). Omnilux™ can
be combined with some oral or topical creams
for severe acne to enhance or speed up the
treatment outcome.
Treatment Time:
Total treatment time per visit is 45 minutes to 1 hour.
What Can I Expect During and Post Treatment?
Your treatment will begin with a gentle cleansing
and exfoliating process. Protective eye goggles
will be placed over both eyes. The Omnilux™ Treatment
will be administered for twenty minutes.
Clients describe the treatment as relaxing
with a slight warming to the skin. To finish
the treatment, a light moisturizer and SPF
30 is applied. Direct and indirect sunlight
should be avoided. An SPF 30 sun block should
be worn through out the course of treatment.
